I rode to the very first Barton Bike Night in 2016 on a beaten-up Honda CB500. There were maybe 40 bikes that night. I never imagined it would grow into what it is now. I have not missed a single event since. The Bonneville came three years ago — my dream bike. I ride it everywhere, and Barton is always the highlight of my summer calendar.

Started on a 125 at 17 because my dad said girls could not ride. Proved him wrong. Worked my way up through a Ninja 300, then a Street Triple, and finally got the Fireblade. I love the Barton meets because nobody cares what you ride or who you are — you are a rider, that is all that matters. The first time I pulled up on the Blade, the reception was incredible.

We have toured most of Europe on this bike. Scotland, the Alps, down to Spain. But Barton Bike Night is something special. It is right on our doorstep and it brings the whole community out. We ride in two-up, park up, and spend the evening catching up with friends we have made over the years. Linda runs the raffle now. Dave helps with marshalling.

I switched to electric two years ago and I wondered if I would be welcome at traditional bike nights. I should not have worried. The Barton crowd has been brilliant. Curious questions, genuine interest, and a lot of "can I have a go?" moments. My Zero gets as much attention as the vintage Triumphs.

I was one of the five blokes in The George who started this whole thing. Built this XS650 in my shed over two winters. Every part has a story. I have seen Barton grow from a handful of mates to something that fills the Market Place. Makes me proud. I still help set up the barriers every event morning.
